Harrisburg Wastewater Treatment Facility

The Harrisburg WWTF started with preparation of a Facility Plan necessary to secure funding for the project. Stockwell Engineers designed a new wastewater treatment facility including pretreatment, biological treatment with bio-nutrient removal, final clarification, disinfection, and reaeration. In addition, the project includes improvements of an existing lift station to pump to the new wastewater treatment facility, an effluent pump station and approximately six miles of forcemain and discharge to the Big Sioux River.

During the design phase of the project, our team developed a project website to inform various stakeholders about the project. This allowed our staff to keep city staff, council and the general public informed on progress and provide additional ways of communication to the Stockwell team and City Staff.
