Ground Breaking at Brandon Water Tower

Back in 2015, the planning and design of the Brandon Water Tower began, with an early version of the design including two towers. The Stockwell team worked closely with the Tami Jansma (City Engineer), Rollie Hoeke (Director of Public Works), and Donovan Carpenter (Public Works Foreman), during the design phase of this project.

Along with AB Contracting, the construction of the foundation began in May of 2021 with a projected substantial completion date of September 2022, and online by the end of 2022.

The 170′ high water tower is a Composite Elevated Tank (CET) which is a welded steel tank supported by a concrete pedestal. The concrete pedestal is 40′ in diameter and the inside will be used to house the piping, valving, and necessary equipment. The tank shell is 79′ in diameter and 40′ tall. It will hold a whopping 1.25MM gallons and is supported on a strong foundation designed to support 14MM pounds or 7,000 tons.

The CET style water tower was selected because it is a durable, long-lasting water storage tank with minimal maintenance, which reduces long-term ownership costs.

We are excited to be a part of this very important project  which will supply safe and healthy drinking water to the community of Brandon!
